Call for Papers

Research Culture in Architecture – International Conference on Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration (RCA 2018)
27 and 28 September, 2018

This international conference, hosted by FATUK, Faculty of Architecture at TU Kaiserslautern aims to discuss topics and methods in architectural research, focusing on cross-disciplinary interrelations and their relevance to the design process. Invited experts from academia and practice will present and discuss pioneering projects and developments from various fields of architectural research.

In the spirit of our conference series theme „research culture in architecture“, we encourage a discourse of this wider context. What is research in architecture? Do architectural journals and conferences give an extensive overview of research in architecture? Is there research which does not get published and remains hidden in buildings? Could practice benefit from more exchange with other practitioners and academics and vice versa?

We invite you to submit abstracts for presentations and posters, which will be reviewed by our International Scientific Committee. Selected submissions will be published in a book, together with articles from our keynotes and round table discussions. Both researchers and practicing architects are invited to participate in this event, which will provide impulses especially for young researchers.
